Peak Performance Blog #6

Big news!…I’ve been confirmed to perform on Urban Rush (Shaw Cable) on Friday, October, 1st! I’ve watched Urban Rush for over 10 years now and I’m super stoked that they’ve asked me to perform, It’s definitely a nice milestone for a local independent musician like myself!

In smaller news, The Vancouver Courier is running a full article about me in tomorrow’s paper (Friday, August, 20th). They talk to me about busking, The Peak Performance Project, Red Robinson’s Talent Show Down, and they even snapped a few photos!

On top of it all, busking has been going really really well, and more n more folks have been popping up at my shows, the momentums building and I’ve gotta say it feels so good, after all these years of blood, sweat, n tears! So I give a heartfelt thanks from me to you, I’m so grateful for all of your support. I’ve never been so close to living my dream and so much of it’s because of you amazing folks* Mucho Mucho Gracias!

Stay tuned for a crazy fun street team event and new viral video

About Bodhi

Genre:  Alternative Pop

Similar Artists: David Gray, Ray Lamontagne, Damien Rice, Ben Harper, Jack Johnson, James Blunt, and Raine Maida

Bodhi Jones spent his early years poor but happy with his mother and sister on Saltspring Island. He affectionately refers to it as a "1980's hippie paradise” and says spending his childhood there was like living a page right out of Huckleberry Finn. Shortly after his tenth birthday he and his mom moved from Saltspring to Vancouver in search of greater opportunity, during this time Bodhi felt overwhelmed by the big city and became very isolated. He was often sick and spent a lot of time home alone...it was during these pre-teen years that he truly discovered his passion for music.

Over the past 6 years, Bodhi has recorded 5 EP’s and 3 full length albums, selling over 20 000 copies while performing on the streets of downtown Vancouver. In 2009 Bodhi was selected as Virgin Radio's "BC artist of the month", voted into The Peak Performance Project's Top 20, and named Vancouver's best busker by The Georgia Straight. 2010 has brought even more exposure his way: Earning a second consecutive spot in The Peak Performance Project's Top 20 and is being played on 100.5 The Peak, CBC Radio One, Virgin, Citr and CJSFU. He also performed live on CTV's Canada Am and Global's Morning Show during the 2010 Winter Olympics.

In April of 2010 he released a new full length album titled "Where Do We Go From Here?" Produced by Winston Hauschild (Hannah Georgas) and mixed by Shawn Cole (Bend Sinister, Yukon Blonde, and You Say Part! We Say Die!), this latest effort is a big step up sonically and truly showcases Bodhi's heart, honesty, and song writing talents. He's just completed his second western Canada tour and is planning a Cross-Canada tour this spring in support of his new album "Ordinary Madness".
